Sealed bids for Replace Balcony Doors East Haven will be received at the Washington Housing Authority Central Office, 809 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, N.C. 27889, until Tuesday, 25 October 2022 at 2:00 pm, at which time properly submitted bids will be publicly opened and read. Late bids, bids submitted via fax or e-mail, and verbal bids will not be accepted. A bidder must accept all the terms and conditions of the contract documents, including, without limitation, the completion of forms and certifications required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. This procurement process is governed by Article 6 of Chapter 143 ("Public Contracts") of the North Carolina General Statutes, as well as federal laws and regulations governing public housing authorities. Bidders are responsible for their own compliance with state contracting requirements. At any time prior to the selection of the successful bidder, the Authority may reject any and all proposals.
The Work consists of removing 38 existing balcony doors and providing 38 new balcony doors at a mid-rise apartment building.
The performance period for the Work is sixty (60) calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed in the amount of $250 per calendar day for each day of delay until the Work is completed and accepted.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Tuesday, 11 October 2022, at 10:00 am at the Washington Housing Authority Central Office. All bidders are urged to attend.
Bid package: specifications, plans, instructions to bidders, and contract documents will be available for inspection in the Authority's Central Office. Prospective bidders may obtain a copy of the bid package at the Pre-Bid Conference upon payment of a $100 security deposit. Security deposit is fully refundable provided a bona fide bid is submitted, and the bid package is returned within 10 days of the bid date in good condition.
