Congratulations to ROSS participant Betty for being a member of the local chapter of the National Honors Society Gamma Beta Phi at Beaufort County Community College.ROSS participant Betty Gatlin is making moves towards her goals. Not only has she taken the initiative to move forward despite the obstacles she faces, but she has also seen the fruit of her hard labor. Mrs. Gatlin actively uses Student Support Services, a federally funded TRIO program, to assist her in reaching her academic goals. Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program that provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic College requirements, and motivates students toward successful completion of their education. All of the services are free for program participants.-BCCC website. She has also been recognized as an honor student, receiving an invitation to be inducted into the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, a nationally recognized accomplishment. Congratulations on your amazing accomplishments, Mrs. Gatlin!
Easter Dinner Donations
Washington Housing Authority was honored to be chosen by Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Washington, NC, for Easter dinner bag donations. They donated over 80 bags to families by March 15, 2024! ROSS and FSS Coordinators Alecia Rhoe and Kimberly Grimes worked to collect and distribute the bags to the residents of the Washington Housing Authority. We want to thank Mother of Mercy for thinking of us during this season!
